Jemima is seamed and waiting so sweetly for me to sew the buttons and buttonholes. I owe so much to Janette down in Australia for helping me figure out how to apply the mattress seam to the raglan sleeves. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Janette!
The seams would look better if I'd done the increases one or two stitches in from the edge, but they look wearable, purposeful even. I've already tried it on, and it fits. It fits pretty well, though the sleeves are a bit baggy. But not too much. Woohoo!
I had hoped to finish Jemima completely today, but I have run out of time. I have train tickets to buy. B and I are going somewhere tomorrow. Some place really cool, where I'm hoping to get a money shot of me looking too cool for school in my new sweater. Weather permitting. Yesterday was chilly enough for a wool pullover (don't get me started), but it's a bit warmer today. And we're heading South. Four hours by train. I can't wait!
Till Friday...

Have a wonderful time! Can't wait to see pictures. Safe travels.

Gosh, this is hilarious! I am right now in the exact same predicament as you were with Jemima's raglans (I googled Jemima raglans & you popped up, he he). Can you please pass on your wisdom? I have decreased 1 stitch in, but it still looks wobbly when I mattress stitch it (perhaps I should have done it 2 in?oooh, I don't want to rip it back...there's other things calling me from my knitting basket). Can you tell me, what did you do, pretty please?? Cheers

me again, seems that I've worked it out for myself. Just took some deep breaths, sat in the sun, with a strong cup of coffee and....well, it looks...not too bad! I have really learned my lesson too - decrease 2 stitches in from now on! (I think I'm getting more picky since I see the exquisite work of everyone on the web...I never spent enough time on the finishing of things and they are always really nicely knitted but hurriedly sewn up into ugly misshapen things). Hope your trip went well, can't wait to see your version of the Jemima.
